The Old Port site also has a great historical richness in terms of technology, industry, port and maritime. A place of importance in Quebec and Canadian heritage, it is adjacent to Place Royale (the founding place of Montreal), the national historic site of Boulevard Saint-Laurent, as well as the national historic site of the Lachine Canal. One of its iconic buildings is the Clock Tower, built between 1919 and 1922 to mark the entrance of the port and commemorate.
