About event
It is in a small stone hospital, consisting of a sick room with six beds, that Jeanne Mance provided care to the first inhabitants of Ville-Marie. She welcomed French patients and wounded, as well as those of Huron-Wendat and Algonquin allies, assisted by a few helpers and the city's first surgeon, Jean Pouppée.
