Mathyas traded his life as a young advertiser in Montreal to become a shepherd in Provence. However, the harsh reality of pastoral life forces him to question his romanticized view of the profession. The visit of Elise, a civil servant who casually quit her job, gives a new direction to Mathyas's quest. Together, they embark on a transhumance with a flock of sheep in their care.
