My mother used to tell me stories that mixed the life stories of immigrants living in Abitibi with traditional tales from their home countries. In addition to a presentation on Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Marta Saenz de la Calzada takes you to Yugoslavia with The Man of the House, to Vietnam with The Rebel Girl, to Cameroon with The Lion, the Monkey, and the Hyena, to Colombia with Juanito and the Paisas, to Haiti with The Gossip Who Talked Too Loud, and to India.
