The Waterboys is a British Celtic group formed in 1983 by Scottish musician Mike Scott. Their music blends folk rock, rock, Celtic, alternative, and Celtic rock genres. The songs, mostly written by Scott, are often infused with literary references and spirituality. Despite critical acclaim, the group has never achieved commercial success. However, the talent of members such as Ian McNabb or Trevor Hutchinson has been individually recognized.
