Formed in San Francisco in 1990, The Brian Jonestown Massacre is a band with a diverse musical style blending psychedelic, shoegaze, indie, indie rock, and rock. Under the direction of Anton Newcombe, the band has had over 40 members and has been influenced by the psychedelic sounds of the 1960s. Their compositions combine garage rock, jangle pop, and lo-fi to create a unique and captivating sound.
