About event

The smoothness and melodic flexibility of Tchaikovsky's famous Violin Concerto contrast with the dramatic intensity of Shostakovich's Symphony No. 11. In this composer's work, music becomes a living testimony of human history, and in this striking and deeply disturbing piece, Shostakovich becomes the advocate of the oppressed in order to denounce all forms of repression. This concert will mark the debut at the OSM of the young and brilliant violinist Sergey Khachatryan.
