Because we are taught inaccurate definitions of love from a young age, it becomes more difficult for us to show it as we grow older. Contrary to what literature, cinema, and television convey, desire is just one ingredient of love. Affection and romance are also important. If our society agreed on a common way to understand the meaning of love, the act of loving would not be so confusing.
