Halima, a French woman of Algerian origin, is pregnant with her second child. When she learns that this time she will have a boy, traumatic memories resurface. She must then confess to her Quebecois husband, Sylvain, that she has lied to him about her family for all these years. She is not an orphan as she has always claimed: her father, mother, sisters, and brothers are all alive and well.
