Mozart had a special love for the clarinet, for which he composed a superb Concerto that would highlight all of Todd Cope's qualities as the solo clarinetist of the OSM. In this work, the composer skillfully exploits the virtuosity and lyricism of the instrument, particularly in the pure beauty of the Adagio. Beethoven, on the other hand, doubled his poetic fervor to depict nature in his famous Pastoral Symphony.
