William Patrick Corgan, III, better known as Billy Corgan, is an American artist who is a key figure in alternative rock, indie, and electronic music. Born in 1967 in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, he is most famous as the singer, guitarist, and songwriter of the band The Smashing Pumpkins. His first solo album, TheFutureEmbrace, was released in 2005, followed by a world tour. With a diverse musical style, Corgan continues to inspire alternative music fans around the world.
